In July 2024, the Telangana government approved the recruitment of 3,035 vacant positions within the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). This decision is aimed at bolstering the state’s public transportation system by filling crucial roles across various departments.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed his satisfaction with the government’s approval, emphasizing that this recruitment initiative will significantly enhance the state’s transportation network. He noted that the new recruits would help meet the growing demand for services, particularly with the ongoing implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme. This initiative, which includes the acquisition of new buses, is expected to further expand the TSRTC’s capacity to serve the public effectively.

The recruitment of 3,035 employees is a historic step, marking the first such initiative since the formation of Telangana in 2014. This long-awaited move is expected to improve the operational efficiency and service delivery of TSRTC, ensuring that the public transportation system continues to meet the needs of Telangana’s growing population.
