Ponnam Appeals to KGBV Teachers to End Strike

In December 2024, Telangana’s Transport and BC Welfare Minister, Ponnam Prabhakar, visited the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) School in Chigurumamidi Mandal, Husnabad constituency. During his visit, he engaged with students to understand the impact of an ongoing teachers’ strike. Recognizing the approaching examinations and the necessity to complete the syllabus, Minister Prabhakar appealed to the striking KGBV teachers to resume their duties. He assured them that the government would address their concerns and encouraged them to end the strike for the sake of the students’ education.

In addition to addressing the strike, Minister Prabhakar inspected the school’s kitchen facilities and assessed the quality of meals provided to the students. He directed the staff to ensure that the quality of ingredients used in meal preparation would not be compromised. Furthermore, he suggested planting useful saplings, such as moringa, guava, lemon, and curry leaves, on the school premises to enhance the nutritional value and environmental benefits for the students.

This visit reflects the Telangana government’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of education, welfare, and facilities for students in the state, ensuring that they receive both academic and nutritional support to foster their overall well-being and development.
