On December 1, 2024, Telangana’s Transport Minister, Ponnam Prabhakar, chaired a review meeting to ensure the successful execution of the ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu’ celebrations. This significant event, scheduled to conclude in Hyderabad from December 7 to 9, brought together key leaders including MLAs, Corporator, DCC presidents, and Assembly candidates. During the meeting, Minister Prabhakar outlined the framework for division-level celebrations, awareness campaigns on government schemes, and large-scale public gatherings.

The focus of the celebrations was to engage citizens with government initiatives and reinforce the commitment to development. Minister Prabhakar emphasized the importance of coordination among leaders, urging them to actively engage with the public. Specific instructions were provided for conducting padayatras in each division to raise awareness of government schemes. A highlight of the final day of the celebrations was set to be the unveiling of the Telangana Talli statue at the Secretariat, followed by a victory rally at Tank Bund, which was expected to draw over one lakh people.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was set to inaugurate transformative development projects worth Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 crore under the ‘Rising Hyderabad’ initiative. The celebrations would also showcase key welfare schemes such as free bus services for women, Rs 500 LPG cylinders, 200 units of free electricity, and the Rs 22,000 crore farm loan waiver. These celebrations were a way for the government to commemorate its achievements while reaffirming its focus on development and welfare for the people of Telangana.
